With interest in hemp-based CBD products growing nationwide, we are just beginning as a society to understand and harness its immense potential. The Happy Camper has long been at the forefront of this exciting era. We serve as both educators and watchdogs, closely monitoring industry trends, legal regulations, and safety information, and we are deeply committed to passing that knowledge along to our customers. Here are examples of the most common questions we hear from our community:
Where does Happy Camper CBD come from?
What is in Happy Camper CBD?
Our CBD oil comes from the powerful hemp plant, a known protein source that’s also rich in healthy fats, essential fatty acids, vitamin E, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, magnesium, sulfur, calcium, iron, and zinc. In addition to more than 80 known cannabinoid compounds, our full-spectrum CBD products contain a wide range of plant-based terpenes, flavonoids, antioxidants, and phytonutrients. Simply put, our products contain everything you want from CBD and nothing you don’t.
How is CBD made?
The Happy Camper maintains extremely high standards for sourcing and producing our CBD from the flowers, leaves, and stems of raw, organic hemp. Once our hemp has been properly harvested, dried, and shucked, we use a clean alcohol and CO2 extraction agent to infiltrate the ground plant material. (This low-waste, cold-filtration process has no negative impact on the environment.) Then, we work in small batches, removing the alcohol residue and testing for quality and potency. This process is labor-intensive, but it ensures that every bottle of The Happy Camper CBD oil contains a rich and robust mix of the original hemp plant’s natural cannabinoids and other beneficial compounds.*
Is all CBD created equal?
In a word, no. Studies have even found brands promoting “CBD products” that contain little to no CBD! As you explore your options, be sure to look carefully at each product label, as well as the producer’s website. Buy CBD only from reputable companies who highlight their ingredient information and Certificates of Analyses on their packaging or website.
What’s the difference between full-spectrum, broad-spectrum, and isolate?
The Happy Camper offers only Full-Spectrum CBD products that preserve the highest possible concentration of each plant’s natural compounds including legal, non-intoxicating levels of THC. These active compounds work together for a phenomenon known as the “entourage effect” that maximizes collective absorption. CBD can also be extracted in these two forms:
- Broad-Spectrum CBD contains cannabidiol plus all of the plant’s other compounds except THC, which is completely removed after the initial extraction.
- CBD Isolate is the purest form of cannabidiol that has been pulled from its natural environment and stripped of all other phytochemicals and nutrients.*
What does Happy Camper CBD oil taste like?
In general, Full-Spectrum CBD tends to retain an earthier flavor than its counterparts. While we dig the earthy vibe of our Original formulas, we recommend shaking the bottle well before use and adding a few drops of your favorite food-grade peppermint oil as desired.
Can CBD be used to treat occasional anxiety?
There’s no short answer to this question, but the key lies in understanding the cannabinoid receptors within the Endocannabinoid System, or ECS, which all humans and animals possess. Cannabinoids can be found in several naturally occurring sources, but perhaps most abundantly in the hemp, or cannabis, plant. Research suggests that when our endocannabinoid receptors are satisfied, our brains can more easily manage feelings of fear, pain, and anxiety.*
Will CBD get me high?
Many people confuse CBD for its psychoactive sister, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which is also derived from the hemp plant. Cannabidiol (CBD) does not produce feelings of being “high,” and research suggests it’s safe even when consumed in large amounts.* You can trust all Happy Camper CBD products to contain no more than the legal maximum of 0.03% THC content.
Should everyone be taking CBD?
Our customers use Happy Camper CBD products to support a range of wellness goals, but only you can decide if CBD is right for you. It’s a decision you should make only after careful review and consultation with your preferred medical provider.
What dosage should I take?
Unlike other dietary supplements, more CBD doesn’t necessarily equal better or stronger. If you’re unsure how much CBD is right to take, we recommend you “start low and go slow,” beginning with just a few drops and increasing daily dosage and frequency until you begin to experience desired results.*
Is it legal for me to buy and possess CBD?
That depends on where you live or are traveling. CBD was legalized at the federal level in 2018, but some states still ban the use or possession of CBD products, and CBD is carefully regulated even in states where it’s legal. If you’re unsure whether CBD is legal in the state where you live or are traveling—or if you have more specific questions about the legality and regulation of CBD—we recommend checking out this FDA resource page.
